ALTSÅ is a counterweight to a very male-dominated news world. As ALTSÅ mentions in one of their advertising videos; 7 out of 10 quoted in newspapers are men, 8 out of 10 biographies are about men, and women face much more adversity and negative attention when they speak up in public than men do. 

Instead of filling their magazine with appearance-based advertising, ALTSÅ have dedicated those pages to promoting upcoming artists.  

Two photos from the work panties were published in the first number of ALTSÅ, and also exhibited at the Magazine ALTSÅ: Art and Photo exhibition at BLÅ in Oslo in 2020.
